Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Food Service Worker at Bedford Hospital to assist with meal preparation for regular and therapeutic diets. You will perform supervised tasks related to cooking, operate kitchen equipment, and keep a clean, organized workspace.

Schedule includes three 12-hour shifts from 6:30am to 7:00pm with every third weekend rotation. A high school diploma or GED is preferred; no experience is required, though food service experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • No experience is required. Prior food service experience is preferred.
  • Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
  • Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
  • Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
  • Requires the ability to climb ladders.
  • Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.
