Job summary

Leidos seeks an Associate Distribution Engineer to develop construction work packages for electric distribution systems in OH, UG, or URD environments. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or related field and six plus (6+) months of prior relevant experience working directly with an electric utility or with a consulting/contracting company performing design engineering for electric utilities
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) required
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Willingness to perform both field and office work

Responsibilities

• Develop construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and construction standards, in OH, UG, or URD environments
• Use Bentley OpenUtilities Design, CAD tools, GIS, and WMS to support project design and document preparation
• Perform engineering calculations including structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop and flicker, and coordination of protective devices
• Prepare forestry trimming requests, facilitate permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, develop BOM, estimate costs, and advocate for customer needs such as easements
• Travel by motor vehicle to project locations to conduct field investigations
