Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer to work in either our Framingham, MA office or the New Hampshire area. The successful candidate will develop construction work packages for electric distribution systems in OH, UG, or URD environments using Bentley Open Utilities Design, CAD, GIS, and WMS.

Responsibilities include engineering calculations, permit acquisition, BOM development, cost estimation, and field investigations with travel to project locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or related field and six plus (6+) months of prior relevant experience with electric utilities or design engineering for electric utilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Willingness to perform both field and office work

Responsibilities

• Develop construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and construction standards.
• Project work may include new business and reliability designs with packages developed using Bentley OpenUtilities Design, CAD tools, GIS, WMS, and other client systems.
• Perform engineering calculations including structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop and flicker, and coordination of protective devices.
• Prepare forestry trimming requests, facilitate permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, develop BOM, estimate costs, and advocate for easements.
• Travel to project locations for field investigations
