Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer to support electric distribution engineering in the New Hampshire area or Framingham, MA. You will develop construction work packages using Bentley OpenUtilities, CAD, GIS, and WMS, and perform calculations for pole structures, transformer sizing, and voltage drop.

Role involves field and office work, with opportunities for career development within Leidos' Power Delivery Services team across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field with 6+ months of relevant electric utility design experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to perform both field and office work.

Responsibilities

• Develop construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and standards.
• Work in OH, UG, or URD environments; engage in new business and reliability designs.
• Perform engineering calculations including pole structural analysis, guying, cable pulling, transformer sizing, voltage drop, and fault coordination.
• Prepare forestry trimming requests, facilitate Right-of-Way acquisition, develop BOM, estimate costs, and advocate for easements.
• Travel to project locations for field investigations.
