Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Associate Distribution Engineer to support electric distribution design in the Framingham, MA area or New Hampshire. The role combines field and office work, using CAD, GIS, and Open Utilities Design to develop construction packages for OH, UG, or URD systems.

Candidates will perform engineering calculations, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and travel to project sites. Growth opportunities include professional licensure and PMP training in a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 6+ months of relevant utility design experience.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Willingness to perform both field and office work.

Responsibilities

Develop construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and standards.
Handle projects in OH, UG, or URD environments with new business and reliability designs.
Perform engineering calculations including pole structure, guying, cable pulling, transformer sizing, voltage drop, and protective device coordination.
Prepare forestry trimming requests, facilitate Right-of-Way acquisition, develop BOM, estimate costs, and advocate for easements.
Travel to project locations to conduct field investigations.
