Job summary

Merck seeks an Associate Director, Engineering within Biologics External Manufacturing Technology to lead technical transfers and commercial supply from External Partners. The role interfaces with EP leadership and internal partners to ensure successful transfers and ongoing support of in-line biologics products.

Located in the US with potential west coast base, reporting to the Director of Biologics External Manufacturing Technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Engineering or applicable Science; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years post-bachelors experience in vaccine/ biologics manufacturing or related operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide a single point of technical contact to External Partners and sites for tech transfer.
• Oversee complex partnership models, coordinating technical issues across partners.
• Ensure on-time, within-budget tech transfer delivery and site readiness for implementations.
• GuideExternal Partner process changes and ensure adherence to standards.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Regulatory, QA to evaluate External Partners.
• Lead risk assessment and mitigation plans for partner networks.
• Develop and execute validation strategies for new/existing products.
• Support manufacturing processes to resolve issues and optimize capacity.
• Communicate across functions and coach change leadership.
