Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director, Engineering within Biologics External Manufacturing Technology. The role interfaces with External Partners to plan, transfer, and commercially supply biologics; based in the US with a flexible west coast location and reporting to the Director, Biologics External Manufacturing Technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or applicable Science required; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years post-bachelor’s degree in Drug Substance/Product vaccines/biologics manufacturing or related ops support.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical contact to External Partners and Commercialization.
• Oversee complex partnership models and ensure on-time tech transfer delivery.
• Lead validation strategies for new and existing products.
• Guide cross-functional teams through risk assessments and change controls.
• Ensure partner readiness for inspections and regulatory compliance.
• Drive continuous process verification and performance monitoring.
