Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director, Engineering within Biologics External Manufacturing Technology, with a flexible US location on the West Coast. The role serves as the key technical liaison between Merck and External Partners for Biologics ExM, leading tech transfers to and from partners and ensuring reliable commercial supply.

The candidate reports to the Director, Biologics External Manufacturing Technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or applicable Science required.
• Advanced degree in Engineering, Science, or Business preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and project leadership to Biologics External Manufacturing.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams for technology transfer and process validation.
• Lead technical diligence and risk assessments for External Partners.
• Guard alignment of tech transfer with regulatory and quality expectations.
• Ensure on-time, within-budget tech transfer deliveries and site readiness.
• Support continuous improvement and cost reduction in collaboration with partners.
