Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director, Engineering within Biologics External Manufacturing Technology. The role leads technical transfers to External Partner networks for vaccines and biologics, with responsibility for on-time, compliant delivery and cross-functional collaboration across multiple sites and partners.

Based in the US with significant travel, reporting to the Director of Biologics External Manufacturing Technology.

Qualifications

Expertise and demonstrated accomplishments leading technical transfers.
Experience in leading cross-functional teams in support of manufacturing operations.
Lean Manufacturing applications for productivity improvements.

Responsibilities

Provide single point of technical contact to External Partners and Commercialization.
Provide oversight and planning for complex partnership models and tech issues.
Ensure on-time, within-budget tech transfer delivery with resource alignment.
Guide External Partner process changes and ensure compliance with standards.
Collaborate with Procurement, External Manufacturing Operations, QA and Regulatory.
Lead risks assessment and develop mitigation plans.
Develop and execute validation strategies for new/existing products.
Provide process support to External Partner for issue resolution and optimization.
Support inspections readiness for new product introductions and transfers.
