Job summary

ChenMed is seeking a Clinical Medical Director to lead clinical teams across multiple centers in a capitated, value-based care model for Medicare Advantage populations. The role is approximately 80% administrative and 20% clinical, focusing on quality outcomes and provider leadership.

With market-level leadership, you will coach physicians, drive performance on quality metrics, support recruitment, onboarding, and develop population health initiatives while maintaining a small clinical panel.

Qualifications

• Board-certified physician (Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or related).
• Proven physician leadership experience in a multi-site or team-based environment.
• Experience with value-based care, Medicare Advantage, HEDIS/STAR performance, and population health initiatives.

Position Overview

The Clinical Medical Director is a senior physician leader responsible for overseeing clinical performance across multiple care centers within a defined market. This role is approximately 80% administrative and 20% clinical, with a strong focus on quality outcomes, provider leadership, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight across multiple primary care centers
• Coach, mentor, and develop physicians and clinical teams
• Drive performance across key quality metrics
• Lead initiatives to improve preventive care, chronic disease management, and patient engagement
• Partner with operations leadership to ensure consistent execution of the care model
• Support provider recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development

The Model

• Fully capitated, value-based care model focused on Medicare Advantage populations
• Emphasis on outcomes over volume, including reducing hospitalizations and ER utilization
• Smaller patient panels to allow for proactive, relationship-driven care
• Integrated, team-based approach with strong clinical and operational alignment

Schedule & Structure

• Monday-Friday schedule
• No nights, weekends, or call
• Market-level leadership with oversight of multiple centers
