Job summary

Linde Inc. in Wilmington, CA is seeking an Associate Director of Operations to direct and plan the production, distribution, and maintenance functions for the Southern California area, reporting to the West Region Director of Operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lean Six Sigma and Cost Reduction initiatives and monitor metrics.
• Develop and oversee productivity optimization and plant reliability targets.
• Staff, train, coach and conduct performance reviews and actions.

What you will enjoy doing*

• This position has responsibility
  for directing, planning and leading operations in the areas of production,
  distribution and maintenance to ensure the required business objectives and
  strategies for the West region of USIG are met in a safe and environmentally
  compliant manner
• You will have accountability for the day-to-day
  operations of the Southern California area (Wilmington, CA and Long Beach CA
  production and distribution operations). This position works closely with and
  reports to the West Region Director of Operations
• You will direct a group of employees and/or consultants to flawlessly execute operational requirements, change and/or process improvements
• Create and manage complex operational plans that result in the accomplishment of business objectives
• Direct and lead complex or unusual assignments across functional areas
• Act as primary interface, coordinating and facilitating activities and commitments with other departments, businesses, and/or functions
• Ensure response strategies are appropriately formulated, and communication plans are provided
• Establish goals, promote decision-making, delegate as appropriate, and overcome obstacles
• You will take a leadership role in creation and oversight of productivity optimization
• Work with strategic independence, conferring with Senior and Executive Management on more complex or unusual assignments
• Monitor external/internal trends, develop procedures, make judgments, and take organization-wide actions that set precedents
• Focus on planning and execution for the current year
• Further, staff, train, coach, and administer performance reviews, salary increases, and corrective action of subordinate employees
• Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures, lead operational discipline throughout the Linde employee organizations, and work closely with the SH&E organization in achieving established goals
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and Linde policies regarding environmental, permitting, and product quality requirements
• Develop, implement, and support Lean Six Sigma and Cost Reduction projects
• Manage and achieve plant and product supply reliability goals
• Manage and achieve plant fixed and variable cost goals, develop monthly business reports covering financial performance, and create action plans to address deficiencies
• Also, work across all levels of Linde organizations to achieve desired results in a cohesive and effective management team

What makes you great

• You have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• Have more than six (6+) years of Operations experience
• Have more three (3+) years of Plant Management experience
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to drive execution of projects and strategic and tactical initiatives
• Must possess proven leadership, team building, and decision-making skills
• Moreover, must be reliability and efficiency focused and possess strong planning and execution skills
• You are expected to possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce to achieve desired results

Pay commensurate with experience. Open to salary range $125,475 - $184,030
