Job summary

Linde plc is seeking an experienced leader to oversee safety, operations, and continuous improvement at our Hillsboro facility. You will drive safety compliance, coordinate daily activities, and resolve plant issues while guiding teams toward performance targets.

Candidates should have 3–5 years supervisory experience in the industrial gas or chemical sector and an engineering degree is preferred. Strong communication, JD Edwards familiarity, and ability to travel up to 5% are important.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years supervisory experience in the industrial gas or chemical industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and enterprise management programs
  • Experience with JD Edwards preferred
  • Knowledge of chemical processes, plant equipment, HMI-based control systems, quality standards, and statistical process control
  • Knowledge of OSHA, PSM, CGMP/FDA, ISO, Responsible Care, EPA standards, and construction industry hazards
  • Ability to lead, develop, and direct teams to achieve results
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and travel up to 5%

Responsibilities

  • You will manage facility personnel safety, operational safety compliance, and respond to plant safety/environmental events
  • Schedule and direct daily activities, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and participate in production planning meetings
  • Manage equipment failures, process upsets, quality issues, and resolve operational safety and efficiency impediments
  • Set performance goals, provide coaching and feedback, support team building, retention, and technician training
  • Further, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, special projects, and operational support requests
  • Provide operational coverage, monitor product supply, and ensure quality and output objectives are met
  • Identify productivity improvements, conduct root cause investigations, and recommend process enhancements
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Project Managers, provide capital project input, and support project execution
  • Adjust controls, anticipate operational issues, and apply problem-solving tools to achieve performance targets
  • And you will reduce operating costs, improve reliability through Operational Excellence strategies, and support budget management
  • Ensure timely completion and closeout of preventive maintenance activities
  • Support employment decisions and influence performance evaluations and rewards
  • Set team objectives, deliver measurable results, and maintain focus on quality and operational excellence
  • Act as backup for the Associate Director as needed during absences
  • Domestic travel and on-call status are required
