Job summary

River Valley Regional YMCA seeks an Assistant Child Care Teacher to support a developmentally appropriate daily program for children. The role requires assisting with planning, supervising, and communicating with families to promote safety, health, and learning in a YMCA setting.

Candidates should have a CDA or an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education and at least two years of related experience. CPR/First Aid within 30 days is required, along with clearances and mandated trainings.

Qualifications

• Active CDA or Associates degree with two years related child care experience.
• Ability to meet Act 33/Child Abuse history, FBI fingerprinting, NSOR, and mandated reporter training.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and organized classroom environment.
• Communicate with parents and staff to support children's development.
• Support multi-sensory learning and multicultural activities.
• Assist with record-keeping including attendance and meals.
• Participate in monthly staff meetings and trainings.
• Provide supervision and positive guidance to children.
