River Valley Regional YMCA is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate daily activities, promoting each child’s affective, cognitive, physical, perceptual-motor, communicative and social competence.

Under the Lead Teacher, you will help maintain a safe classroom, prepare materials, assist with multi-sensory learning, support social-emotional development, and communicate with families to ensure a positive, healthful learning

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED and two years' work experience related to the care and development of children.
• Compliance with Act 33 including documentation of Child Abuse History (CY-113) and Criminal History (SP4-164) and FBI fingerprinting.
• Biannual physical examination and initial TB (Mantoux) test.
• Ability to work with and relate well to young children and coworkers.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse mandated reporter training within 30 days of hire date.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
• Previous experience with diverse populations and ability to develop positive relationships with people from different backgrounds.

Responsabilidades

• Assists in establishing and maintaining a safe and healthful learning environment.
• Assists in maintaining an efficient, well-arranged classroom with organized learning areas.
• Keeps equipment and materials in good repair and stored safely.
• Cleans and sanitizes toys and cots weekly and as needed.
• Assists in providing materials and activities appropriate for children’s developmental progress.
• Assists in planning for a multi-sensory classroom environment (visual, auditory, tactile).
• Assists in supporting children’s social-emotional development and positive guidance.
• Involves children in self-help tasks (dressing, toileting, handwashing, eating).
• Maintains daily records and communicates with families and staff.
• Attends monthly staff meetings and prepares classroom materials and displays.
