Job summary

River Valley Regional YMCA is looking for an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in developing daily activities for children's growth and development. The position requires engaging actively with children and families while ensuring a safe and organized classroom environment.

Ideal candidates should have a High School Diploma and relevant experience in child care. CPR and First Aid certifications are required, along with a passion for working with young children.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience related to the care and development of children.
• Compliance with Act 33 for child abuse history documentation.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining a well-arranged classroom.
• Provides guidance in nutritional experiences.
• Maintains accurate records including children's files.

Skills

Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds

CPR, First Aid, AED certifications

Ability to work with young children

Strong communication skills

Ability to plan and organize activities

Education

High School Diploma or General Education Certificate
