Job summary

Metro YMCAs is seeking a dedicated Pre-K Teacher Assistant for the West Essex YMCA starting September 2026 through June 2027. The role supports curriculum implementation and classroom management under the Lead Teacher, promoting a caring, respectful, and responsible environment for children and families.

Requirements include a CDA or 60 college credits in Education, plus CPR/First-Aid within 30 days. Opportunities to engage in staff development and YMCA events are available.

Qualifications

• CDA or 60 college credits/degree in Education preferred.
• Experience in curriculum implementation and teamwork is essential.
• Maintain training requirements as required by the Office of Licensing.
• First-Aid, CPR and AED certification within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher in organizing classroom and displays.
• Implement age-appropriate curriculum under Lead Teacher guidance.
• Support multiple classes as needed and ensure safety of children.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings and events as required.
• Model YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
