Job summary

River Valley Regional YMCA is seeking an Assistant Teacher for its Pre-K Counts program. You will assist in planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate daily schedule, ensuring a safe, healthy learning environment, and supporting children's emotional and social growth.

Under supervision, you will coordinate activities for multiple learning styles, maintain records, communicate with families, and participate in ongoing staff trainings to support program goals.

Qualifications

• CDA or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education and two years of related experience are required.
• Ability to obtain Act 33 clearance and mandated background checks.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining a safe, healthful learning environment.
• Support developmentally appropriate activities and individual learning styles.
• Communicate with families and program staff to ensure children's well-being.
• Assist with curriculum planning, records, and materials preparation.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and participate in training hours.
