Job summary

River Valley Regional YMCA is seeking an Assistant Child Care Teacher to join a collaborative teaching team. The role supports planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate daily program and maintains a safe, healthful classroom under the supervision of the Lead Teacher.

You will communicate with families, help with multicultural materials, and participate in monthly staff meetings while promoting children's affective, cognitive, physical, and social development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience with children.
• Must complete Act 33/Criminal History and FBI checks.
• Biannual physical and TB testing; free from communicable diseases.
• 18 years or older with ability to supervise others.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate daily program.

• Support children's social-emotional development and provide positive guidance.
