Job summary

The Salvation Army Oakland Main Store is seeking a Store Assistant Manager to support day-to-day operations, coach staff, and maintain strong customer and donor relations. This full-time role features a 40-hour work week and eligibility for benefits including medical, dental, vision, PTO, and retirement plans.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, 2+ years retail management, POS/cash handling experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years Retail Management/Supervisory experience.
• Ability to handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Valid Driver's license with proof of insurance.
• Pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Effective communication with management, staff, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager in day-to-day store operations.
• Cover all daily store tasks in the Store Manager's absence.
• Coach, train, and develop store employees.
• Maintain strong Customer/Donor/Community relations and resolve complaints promptly.
• Communicate personnel issues with Management and HR for discipline and evaluations.
• Ensure ARC merchandising standards and adequate inventory levels.
• Oversee Back Room Processing and safeguard cash handling at opening.
• Support safety measures per ARC policy and governmental regulations.
• Apply loss prevention measures and perform other duties as assigned.
