Job summary

The Salvation Army South SF Store is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to partner with the Store Manager in daily operations and drive sales targets. You will oversee POS, inventory, donations, and ensure profitability while mentoring Beneficiaries in ARC programs.

A strong candidate will lead staff, ensure security, and maintain excellent community relations. This full-time role requires 2+ years Retail Management, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years previous Retail Management/Supervisory experience (thrift preferred).
• Basic understanding of office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must hold a valid Driver's license, able to pass MVR report (required), able to show proof of insurance and have access to a motor vehicle.
• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Takes an active role and partners with the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store.
• Assumes responsibility for all day-to-day store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Assists Store Manager to monitor and analyze key performance indicators to drive store sales and profitability.
• In the absence of Store Manager, schedule store employees to ensure appropriate coverage.
• Assists Store Manager with hiring, training and directing the store team.
• Communicate personnel issues and performance results with Store Manager; issue warnings as needed.
• Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction and develop strategies to improve service.
• BRP – support Back Room Processors/Warehouse staff to meet daily goals.
• Supervise, support, and conduct reporting of program Beneficiaries when Work Therapy Assignments are used.
• Protect store currency, inventory and property; manage deposits and security.
• Ensure safety policies are followed; attend safety meetings when possible.
• May transfer or be relocated to other stores based on business needs.
• Complete tasks as assigned by management.
