Family Dollar in Sanford, North Carolina is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, service customers, and develop the team. You will support opening and closing and ensure promotional displays are effective.

The role requires a high school diploma (preferred), prior store management experience in retail or grocery, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and frequent standing, walking, and bending.
• Strong communication, organizational and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Customer service oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain displays and fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and ensure asset security.
• Supervise, train, and develop store associates and ensure a safe environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and ensure a neat, presentable store.
