Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development at our Bladenboro, NC location. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and support opening/closing procedures.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and team collaboration skills, with physical readiness for stocking and floor duties. Experience in retail management is preferred and ADA-compliant accommodations may be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical store tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and store associates are trained.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store environment.
