Family Dollar in North Carolina is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You’ll assist with daily activities, supervise associates, and ensure a safe, friendly shopping environment.

You will help manage merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling while maintaining clean and organized spaces. This role requires strong communication, teamwork, and a focus on customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, collaborative team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and fixtures for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and waste management.
• Other duties as assigned.
