Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our Sanford, NC store. The role focuses on store operations, customer service, and team development, with responsibilities ranging from merchandise organization to loss prevention and open/close procedures.

You will assist in ordering, scheduling, and ensuring safety policies, while helping train and mentor Store Associates to maintain a positive and high-energy work environment. The position is part-time with opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
