Job summary

Chico’s FAS, Inc. in Wilmington, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in driving sales, operations, asset protection, and HR functions to deliver a great customer experience and maximize profitability.

The role supervises and trains sales associates, manages scheduling and payroll accuracy, oversees visual merchandising, inventory, and cash handling, and ensures compliance with policies while supporting recruiting and performance coaching.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Minimum 3 years retail or sales management experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written skills.
• Able to travel to stores throughout the district.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepares weekly schedules to ensure proper floor coverage and payroll accuracy.
• Promotes customer service by greeting and assisting customers and addressing inquiries professionally.
• Supervises associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer service.
• Models sales techniques and product knowledge to customers and helps locate merchandise.
• Maintains a visually appealing store with proper merchandising and housekeeping.
• Trains associates on visual merchandising to maintain standards.
• Manages cash handling, pricing changes, and register transactions in accordance with policy.
• Oversees inventory receipt, daily replenishment, and physical inventories.
• Supports store operations and compliance with policies and controls.
• Assists in recruiting, hiring, and development of store staff; delivers coaching.
• Other duties as assigned.
