Job summary

Family Dollar in Saint James, Minnesota is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and support opening and closing procedures.

Responsibilities include processing directives, maintaining displays, payroll/scheduling, asset protection, and staff training to ensure a positive, safe environment for customers and associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail or grocery is a plus.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply operational directives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and enforce safety policies.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; foster a respectful environment.
