Family Dollar in Pipestone, MN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, deliver strong customer service, and develop the team. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and ensure the seasonal areas are maintained.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and ability to read and interpret operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties associated with a busy store.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, and handle records including payroll and cash handling.
• Maintain well-stocked and organized store areas to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, and overall presentation.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
