Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to aid in store operations, customer service, and team development. You’ll help with opening/closing, merchandise transfers, and maintaining clean, well-stocked floors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and repetitive lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise between delivery truck, stockroom, and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; support loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets including cash; ensure policy compliance.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with professional interactions.
