Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment. You will help manage daily functions, assist customers, organize merchandise, and maintain a welcoming store atmosphere while upholding company policies and safety standards.

The role involves supervising and training store associates, handling logistics such as payroll and scheduling, and ensuring a clean, well-stocked store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Retail, grocery, or drug store environment store management experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with store duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record-keeping including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized, and protect company assets.
• Ensure a safe, positive environment and that policies are followed by associates.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
