Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You’ll assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, and help manage merchandising, payroll and scheduling while upholding loss prevention and safety standards.

You will work to maintain clean, well-stocked spaces, train associates, and ensure a positive, safe environment. This role offers growth in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; the role requires reading and interpreting directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking and standing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
• Customer service excellence and strong organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Provide excellent customer service and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling and cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and train staff on them.
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Keep the store clean, bathrooms stocked, floors swept and mopped, and trash removed.
• Other duties as assigned.
