Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail setting.

The role involves organizing merchandise, maintaining stockrooms and floors, and assisting in payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention. You will help supervise and train Store Associates while ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drugstore environment preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as described.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy team environment.
• Excellent organizational and customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store operations and activities.
• Help customers in a friendly, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize merchandise transfer from delivery to stockroom and floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Execute opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness, fixtures, and promotional displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handling damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Ensure a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and adhere to policies and safety guidelines.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
