Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Norlina, NC to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. The role involves merchandising, opening/closing, and executing corporate directives to uphold store standards.

The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and experience in retail operations. A part-time schedule is available with opportunities for growth and training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as part of duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays to ensure effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; support loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Follow safety guidelines and enforce policies among associates.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable; manage bathrooms and floors.
