Job summary

Family Dollar in Chinquapin, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, merchandise flow, and staff supervision to maintain a clean, well-organized store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties including walking, standing, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communicate store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merch, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Follow safety policies and ensure staff adherence to procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment with professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean including bathrooms, floors and trash disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
