Family Dollar in Linden, Tennessee is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day functions, help customers, organize merchandise, and participate in opening/closing procedures while ensuring safety and policy compliance. The role emphasizes training Store Associates, maintaining clean, well-stocked spaces, and protecting store assets in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks common to retail work
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and loss prevention
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain store cleanliness and restocking of bathrooms, floors, and trash
• Other duties as assigned
