Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, customer service, and team development in Linden, Alabama. You will support opening/closing, organize merchandise flow, and help supervise associates to ensure a safe, friendly shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on maintaining store standards and adherence to policies. A high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret and explain operational directives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll and scheduling.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets including cash and adhere to safety policies.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training and developing associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restrooms stocked, floors swept and mopped, trash taken out.
• Other duties as assigned.
