Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Tennessee LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. The role involves daily store activities, merchandising, payroll and loss prevention, plus ensuring safety and policy compliance.

You will assist in supervising and training staff, maintaining a clean, well-stocked store, and delivering a positive shopping experience for customers. Part-time position based in Memphis, TN.

Qualifications

• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to read, interpret and explain operational directives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling and cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and ensure safety compliance by associates.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train and develop store associates.
• Foster a positive, safe and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, floors swept/mopped, trash removed, areas neat.
