Barnes & Noble College is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead the campus store by partnering with the Store Manager to deliver an exceptional retail experience. This role focuses on team development, merchandising, inventory management, and campus relations to drive business results.

You'll manage daily operations, coach staff, schedule, and ensure a customer-first culture while maintaining stores in excellent condition and supporting Course Materials, General Merchandise,

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of retail experience, with at least one year in a supervisory role preferred or completion of the Barnes & Noble College Aspiring Leader Program.
• Experience with merchandising, inventory management, visual merchandising, and customer service.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team development skills; ability to motivate others.
• Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal skills, and relationship-building.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily sales floor operations by delivering exceptional customer service and coaching team members.
• Partner with Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, serve as Manager-on-Duty when needed, and ensure standards.
