Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Maryland LLC in Oxon Hill, MD, seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development.

You will support opening/closing, merchandise flow, payroll and scheduling, while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment for customers and colleagues. This is a part-time role with growth potential in a busy retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help merchandise flow from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communicate store activities.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and train/store associates accordingly.
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness and restocking of bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
