Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Maryland LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, organize merchandise, and support the Store Manager in training and supervising associates.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, and a commitment to maintaining store standards and excellent customer experiences day

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read and follow directives is required.
• Retail/store management experience in grocery or convenience store environments is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle frequent walking, standing, and stacking.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process all corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy and other communications
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling) and loss prevention
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store including restrooms, floors, and trash removal
• Other duties as assigned
