Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Maryland LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Landover location.

You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, train associates, and ensure cleanliness and safety while following company policies. This is a full-time role offering growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and pulling
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store operations and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have
• Help organize merchandises from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure store assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
