Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in California to support the Store Manager in sales, service, and store operations. You will lead a team, ensure excellent customer service, and supervise daily activities to maintain store standards.

The role emphasizes staffing, training, scheduling, and responsible execution of store programs, with bilingual candidates encouraged to apply and growth opportunities within the company.

Qualifications

• Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification.
• Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team in delivering excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels at the retail showroom and execute programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot).
• Work with the store manager to staff the retail sales counter during peak hours (lunch, late-afternoon, evenings, weekends).
• Assist the store manager in setting team goals, providing feedback, coaching, and ensuring training compliance.
• Assist in hiring by coordinating interviewing and candidate evaluation with management.
• Ensure calls and customer inquiries are answered per policy and process all transfers and orders promptly.
• Oversee returns, refunds, and proper invoicing with correct methods, and manage stock in returns area.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Ensure adherence to posted schedules and secure premises during opening/closing duties.
• Support maintenance of building, signage, and delivery vehicles; perform other duties as assigned.
