Job summary

ALDI USA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in New York to support the store leader in daily operations, supervise staff, manage schedules, and implement action plans to improve performance while ensuring excellent customer service.

This full-time role requires at least a high school diploma and retail leadership experience, with a starting wage of $26 per hour and a $27 raise in year two. Benefits include 401(k) matching, EAP, and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment.
• Combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
• Prior management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the direct leader with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results.
• Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to their direct reports to ensure mutual understanding and desired results.
• Identifies training and development opportunities for direct reports to enhance performance.
• Model company values to create teamwork and sense of belonging among employees.
• Monitor competitive environment and recommend adjustments to maintain ALDI's position.
• Provide product feedback and recommendations on items to carry or discontinue.
• Participate in interviewing store personnel and communicate key information to the team.
• Ensure inventory procedures, product handling guidelines, and cash control policies are followed.
• Resolve store-level customer concerns in the absence of the direct leader.
