Job summary

ALDI USA in New York area is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily store operations, supervise staff, and drive performance improvements. You will help develop action plans, manage schedules, and identify training opportunities to grow the team while upholding ALDI standards and customer service excellence.

Starting wage is $27.50 per hour, with a wage increase to $28.50 in Year 2. The role is full-time with competitive benefits and 38 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising day-to-day store activities and overall store performance.
• Develop and implement action plans to improve operating results.
• Set and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.
• Identify training and development opportunities for direct reports.
• Maintain store signage, cleanliness, and proper stock levels.
• Participate in interviewing store personnel and manage payroll/ loss budgets.
• Ensure inventory procedures, product handling, and cash control policies.
• Communicate information on weekly milestones and store developments.
• Escalate issues to leadership when necessary and ensure customer service excellence.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
