Job summary

Total Wine & More in California seeks an Assistant Store Manager to grow the brand by delivering top service and creating a distinctive beverage-focused environment. You will support operations, lead a sales-focused team, and help expand the customer base while maximizing profitability.

Internally, you will be referred to as Assistant Manager and report to the Store Manager, with duties spanning payroll, inventory, training, and customer service leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of work experience; 2+ years in a supervisory role in retail.
• Experience leading, motivating, and developing a sales-focused team.
• Familiarity with POS and inventory management software.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and deliver against key performance metrics.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and leading store team; develop product knowledge.
• Support day-to-day operations including payroll, inventory, merchandising and shrink.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by leading by example and resolving issues.
• Help maintain vendor relationships to support store objectives.
• Ensure adherence to laws related to alcohol sales and store safety.
