Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily operations at a busy retail store and donation center. You will support the Store Manager, supervise staff, ensure strong sales, and maintain excellent customer and donor service while controlling inventory and safety.

This role offers starting pay of $20.95/hour, with opportunities for merit increases and quarterly incentives based on store performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of retail management experience.
• Comfort with frequent movement and physical tasks; ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead store activities to ensure strong sales and production performance.
• Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding of new team members.
• Train and develop staff in alignment with company standards.
• Review daily sales reports, deposits, and financial procedures.
• Coordinate product flow and shipments to meet sales goals.
• Open and close the store, manage deposits, secure the building.
• Provide excellent customer and donor service, including resolving complaints.
• Supervise processing of donated goods for sales readiness.
• Organize and rotate merchandise by category and color.
• Encourage team motivation through communication and feedback.
• Report maintenance needs and safety concerns to store leadership.
• Act as Store Manager in absence.
