Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Mansfield, TX. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, and ensure merchandise is well-displayed and stocked.

The role involves opening/closing, following corporate directives, and leading store associates to maintain a safe, friendly environment. Prior retail management is preferred.

Qualifications

• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret operational directives.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment; strong problem-solving and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll and cash handling.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and secure assets.
• Support Store Manager in training and development of associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe environment and professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Ensure store areas are neat and presentable and adhere to policies.
