Job summary

Family Dollar in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, drive customer service, and develop the team. You will assist with merchandise, cash handling, and compliant store procedures to meet company standards.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and physical stamina to lift up to 55 lbs, work in a fast-paced retail environment, and maintain a welcoming, organized store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail/grocery is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers with questions and concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Follow corporate directives and store policies.
• Maintain store displays and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep store areas neat and stocked to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash.
• Train and develop store associates.
• Maintain a safe, friendly environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness including restrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
