Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company is seeking a Store Department Manager to lead fresh perimeter areas including bakery, deli, produce and market. You will ensure product quality, food safety, and inventory integrity while driving store sales and profits through effective merchandising and team leadership.

You will recruit and develop partners, implement training, monitor performance, and maintain exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in related field and two+ years of related experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience in retail grocery operations and store leadership preferred.
• Knowledge of state alcohol, tobacco, and lottery rules where applicable.
• Familiarity with cash handling, loss prevention and safety standards.
• Ability to manage multiple departments and drive sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, train and develop partners; schedule and direct work.
• Ensure training of partners within supervised departments.
• Review data to forecast sales from ads and promotions; manage inventory and in-stock levels.
• Oversee store performance, cash flow, customer service, and standards adherence.
• Open/close duties and ensure store readiness and safety for customers.
• Conduct store inspections, manage planograms and merchandising promotions.
