Job summary

Madewell in New York is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the leadership team and drive profitability through genuine customer connections and community engagement. You will coach the sales team, provide feedback, and help adapt store strategies for business success with strong operational support.

You will oversee division areas, manage store operations, and collaborate with leadership to ensure goals are met and exceptional service is delivered.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of retail management experience.
• Passionately support our brand, customers, and teams.
• Scheduling flexibility including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must bend, reach, stretch for product and lift/move at least 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Director & Associate Store Manager to impact business results.
• Own your division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling).
• Manage store operations, systems and technology with accountability.
• Assist with recruiting, training and development when needed.
• Foster a collaborative environment among associates.
• Ensure the team exceeds goals and delivers best-in-class service.
• Lead fit sessions to boost product knowledge and customer connection.
• Engage the community and build loyalty through events.
