Job summary

O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, and store operations. The role will lead the team in servicing customers and manage store coverage during shifts and the manager's absence.

You will assist in hiring, training, and coaching staff, ensuring policy adherence, and driving performance across the retail floor. The position offers potential for growth within a results-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification.
• Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom and ensure team execution of programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot).
• Ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed during peak hours and coordinate with the store manager.
• Assist in setting team member goals, provide feedback, coaching and training.
• Assist in hiring by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and interviewing, and collaborating with management on candidate selection.
• Ensure telephone is answered according to policy.
• Oversee buy online/ship to store, hub and store transfers, and DC add orders with timely communication to customers.
• Use electronic ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently.
• Process returns and exchanges smoothly, issue refunds correctly, and stage returns properly.
• Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before leaving the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks.
• Ensure compliance with work schedules and clocking in/out procedures.
• Perform opening/closing duties, handle deposits, secure the store, and check delivery vehicles.
• Assist in maintaining the store building, signage/lighting, hardware, and service equipment.
• All other duties as assigned.
